You can find Blocker down in DJ Reo's forum, Jessii. He's really busy with work these days, unfortunately. I do love the Man In Black's cover of "Hurt" and though I don't currently have it on my hard drive, it would be interesting to find a place for it in a show. Thanks for the suggestions!

Welcome back Exe!

Not sure if this fits your style or your show's, but here's something I stumbled upon earlier this month:

At some point they changed vocalists, not sure if it was for their most recent album or earlier.

----------------

Similar sound to Alcest, a group called "Les Discrets."

----------------

Pandora said this group is also like Alcest, but lacks the kind of "dense" sound of Alcest. It's an interesting group, in a good way, I just can't seem to properly describe it.

----------------

The next group, Primordial, is labeled as Celtic/Folk/melodic death metal or something like that, but I think it's pretty listener friendly and accessible.

Vocally it reminds me somewhat of the "Eternity" album from Anathema.

Below is a full album video so you can skip around to get an idea of their variable levels of "heaviness." Unfortunately, it isn't indexed/quick linked to each track.

Not sure if this is you're style, but might fit if you did another various forms of electronic show. I've also listened to this song way too much over the past week or so.

Mind.In.A.Box - Escape

The video is various clips from the movie "Natural City" which is the film that was described to me as a "Korean Blade Runner."

Warning: Metal that isn't Bolt Thrower!
Another one of those Tolkien inspired named bands, Ithilien. They're labeled as "Folk Metal," but there certainly seems to be some "Black Metal" influences, the non annoying kind though. (Well at least to me...)

Ithilien - Reckless Child

Learned about this project a few days ago, not really my style, but I thought you might be interested. My understanding is that Ayreon is mainly one guy and then has a ton of guest vocalists and instrumentalists appear on the record. And I'm pretty sure it's progressive metal of some sort.

Next up is a crazy band from Australia, progressive/technical metal with a vocalist who is somewhere inbetween black and death and a second vocalist who sings clean when he isn't playing the violin.

Third is a band called Starset who say they're "astronaut rock" and both their albums tell a story about an astronaut. (I haven't really looked into the concept/story.)
From the first album

Second album:

Lastly is a newer group, Pale Waves. They currently only have an EP out, but a full album is supposedly coming later this year.

A reminder

synthwave/new retro wave/slasherwave AKA because you like Carpenter Brut. Can be a bit heavier though.

I know I mentioned this to Havok, can't remember if I did to you.

Special name change stab me bonus edition!

Bonus part 2: Things you might actually like.
